Terranuova Bracciolini

The birth of Terranuova is fairly recent, built for the will of the Florentine Republic in the early decades of 1300. Originally, the town took the name of Castel S. Maria in Ganghereto. The country had aimed at curbing the power expansion of the Florentine noble, this being the last village built soon decided to change its name to "Terra Nova".
